New Boothbay bottle bin location

The Boothbay Common Bottle Bin has been replaced and has a new location. It is now at the left rear of the parking lot adjacent to the new restrooms. This location was chosen among several considered by the landscape committee because it’s easier for dropping off bottles directly beside the bin. The new location eliminates driving onto the Common to either drop off or pick up. This protects new turf planted last fall.
The committee approached local businessman Paul Coulombe about placing the bin on his property. Coulombe agreed and had his staff build a new bottle bin and install a sign. “We are grateful for Paul’s continued generosity and support for town initiatives,” said Town Manager Dan Bryer.
Boothbay Civic Association collects the bottles. The funds support various community functions. The municipal building, built in 1993, is the most “visible and enduring” project partially funded by the returnables, according to a BCA press release.
