Nancy Mary Soule, 74, of Waldoboro, passed away peacefully at home on Jan. 25, 2019, surrounded by her loving family, after a brief illness.

Nancy was born on July 13, 1944 in Bremen, Maine, the third child of Andrew and Jessie (Genthner) Kaler. She attended Bremen and Waldoboro schools. After high school, she was employed by the Paragon Button Factory and GTE Sylvania in Waldoboro.

Nancy married Bruce Soule on Oct. 5, 1968, and recently celebrated over 50 wonderful years together. Nancy and Bruce raised five children together. Nancy was a kind and loving wife, mother, sister and friend who put family and others before herself. She was generous and unselfish and lived her life taking care of her family. One of her biggest pleasures was listening to her son Tim and his band perform, while dancing with her husband to her favorite song, “Old Time Rock and Roll.” She never missed any of his performances in 15 years.

Nancy and her husband also shared a love for their horses. Even after their own children grew up and left home, she treated their horses as if they were her children.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, William Soule (who died August 1967 in Vietnam), sister, Caroline Miller, brother, Robert Kaler, and sister, Marjorie Poland.
Nancy is survived by her loving husband Bruce; daughter, Lisa Yates and husband Philip of South Berwick; daughter, Rita Paiement and her husband Joe of Windham; son, Tim Soule and wife Teri of Bowdoin; daughter, Karen Dang and husband Bao of Braselton, Georgia; daughter Mary Cotillier and husband Jermaine of Kenosha, Wisconsin; grandchildren, Amanda Yates, Grace Paiement, Emma Soule, Neo Dang, and Jasmine Cotillier; brothers, Howard and Walter Kaler; sister, Jessie Wile; and many nieces and nephews.

As per Nancy’s request there will be no memorial services.

In lieu of flowers, should family and friends desire, contributions may be sent to her loving husband, Bruce, to help care for the horses that Nancy loved so much, at 617 Bremen Road, Waldoboro, Maine 04572.

Arrangements are entrusted to Hall’s of Waldoboro. Condolences may be shared at www.hallfuneralhomes.com
