'Is my kid high?'
Anyone working with youth and young adults – parents, teachers, employers and others – is invited to attend one of the three free training series on recognizing whether a child, teen or young adult is under the influence of drugs, alcohol, narcotics, bath salts or a combination of any of these.
The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office, in partnership with Healthy Lincoln County CASA (Communities Against Substance Abuse), will be offering this special training at three locations in March. The deadline for signing up for the series is Monday, February 18.
The first series will be held at the Boothbay Region YMCA on Tuesdays, March 5, 12 and 19 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. each night. The second series will be held on Wednesdays at Lincoln Academy in Newcastle on March 6, 13 and 20, and the third series will be held on Thursdays, March 7, 14 and 21.
Deputy Mark Bridgham, LCSO, will be the training facilitator. Attendees will find Bridgham's information valuable and possibly even life-saving. Teachers attending all three classes in a selected series will be eligible to receive contact credit hours.
To register, call Healthy Lincoln County/Youth Promise at 207-563-6123 or email casa@healthylincolncounty.org/.
