Mutt Scrub a success
Dear Editor:
Two Salty Dogs Pet Outfitters would like to thank all the folks that helped make the 2nd annual Boothbay Harbor Mutt Scrub a huge success and a really fun afternoon! Over $1,750 was raised for the Lincoln County Animal Shelter and we could not have done it without all the generosity and support from the community. Once again, we were fortunate enough to have an outstanding team of dog washers. These dedicated young animal-lovers spent a sunny Saturday afternoon washing, drying, and brushing 56 dogs in less than four hours. Thank-you Keiran, Ryan, Gracie, Simi, Finn, Noni, Olivia, Brodie, Janssen, Eva and Logan.
Thanks to Jeff Morris (aka MC Meow-Meow) for rockin’ the event as emcee and music maker and Sara Boston for clipping what seemed like an endless line of dogs waiting for nail treatment. Also, thanks to our salty friends Katie Moore, ReAnna Heino, Susan Reynolds, Sarah Devlin and Jen Morris for helping throughout the day and lending a hand as needed. And a big thanks to Bob at Coastal Shipping for the use of the lawn and parking spaces.
We were fortunate enough to be joined by Crust this year and enjoyed fabulous wood-fired pizza, with 10 percent of the sales donated to the shelter. And local businesses really came through in support of the shelter and donated fantastic raffle items and prizes. Thanks to the generous supporters at Boathouse Bistro, The Lobster Dock, McSeagull’s, Robinson’s Wharf, Ports of Italy, KIP Photography, UnTangled, Silver Lining, Sweet Bay, Boothbay Railway Village, Abacus, Doggie Safe ‘n Dry, Uncommon Paws, Eventide, The SOP Shop, and The Pantry.
Lastly thanks to Carrie and the adorable (and adoptable) four-legged friends for spending the afternoon with us and sharing information on Lincoln County Animal Shelter. We’ll be back next year, so mark your calendar for July 25, 2015, the last Saturday in July.
