Tue, 03/31/2020 - 10:15am

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we regret to announce that the opening reception for the 15th annual Maine Photography Show (MPS) , scheduled for Saturday, April 4, is cancelled.

Award winners of the 2020 show will be notified directly and the winners announced on www.mainephotoshow.org at 2 p.m. on April 4.

And, because the photo show is a “non-essential business,” the MPS committee has had to postpone the exhibition. However, the work is posted on the MPS website as Gallery 2020. The Special Category for MPS 2020: Documentary. For the 2020 Show we solicited photos in the categories Black and White, Color, Student, and Special Category.

The juror for the 2020 Show was Greg Rec, Chief Photographer of the Portland Press Herald.

The exhibition at the Boothbay Region Art Foundation, 1 Townsend Ave., Boothbay Harbor is now tentatively scheduled from Friday, May 12 through Friday, June 5.

MPS has been the annual premier juried gallery show of photography in Maine in the 15th year now.

Our exhibition policy may change, as the virus situation progresses. Visit www.mainephotoshow.org for updates.

Said MPS committee chair Bruce Burnham, “Committee member Steve Dunn died unexpectedly this past August. We mourn and commemorate our dear friend and will exhibit his photography as part of the show!”
