MPBN expects to show ‘Getting Away Together’ episode this fall
A Maine Public Broadcasting Network official confirmed last week that the local Public Broadcasting Station will show the “Getting Away Together” episode shot in the Boothbay region last year as early as September.
“Getting Away Together” began its second season on July 3 on many PBS stations throughout the country. However, MPBN is not one of them. Andrea Weymouth, who works in MPBN’s viewer services department, said on July 11 that the episode shot in Boothbay will be seen later this year.
“We hoping for sometime early this fall maybe in September,” Weymouth said. “If not, it will most likely be seen later this year. But we’re definitely going to show it.”
A local viewing is also being planned at The Harbor Theater in Boothbay Harbor. Audrey Miller of Cottage Connection, who hosted the six Cajun women who were the focus of the episode, said the program will be shown when a time can be scheduled at the theater.
“I have a completed version of the episode. We just haven’t been able to coordinate our schedule with the theater,” she said. “I expect it won’t be much longer.”
Miller said anyone who wanted to watch the episode could view it at Cottage Connections, located at 675 Wiscasset Road in Boothbay.
