Midcoast Humane announces 75th Anniversary Jubilee Celebration
Midcoast Humane is proud to celebrate 75 years of compassion, connection, and community with its 75th Anniversary Jubilee celebration on Saturday, Dec. 6 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Maine Maritime Museum in Bath. Presented by Bath Savings and Damariscotta Hardware, this special eveninghonors the organization’s longstanding commitment to animals and the people who care about them.
“Celebrating 75 years means honoring every animal, every adopter, every volunteer, and every act of kindness that brought us to this moment,” said Jess Townsend, Executive Director. “This jubilee isn’t just about looking back; it’s about celebrating the people who make our work possible and looking ahead to a future where every animal in Midcoast Maine is cared for and given the chance to thrive.”
Guests will enjoy a warm and inviting celebration featuring locally inspired dishes by Wild Oats Bakery and Cafe, specialty cocktails from Vessel and Vine, and live music by The Hadacol Bouncers, whose upbeat jazz sound will set a festive tone throughout the night. In addition to great food and entertainment, the event features an exclusive auction filled with unique items and memorable experiences, all supporting MidcoastHumane’s lifesaving work.
Midcoast Humaneis honored to welcome Dr. Jeff Young, star of Animal Planet’s Dr. Jeff: Rocky Mountain Vet, as Special Guest. Known nationwide for his commitment to accessible veterinary care and his advocacy for spay/neuter programs, Dr. Jeff’s passion reflects the values that have guided Midcoast Humane for seven and a half decades.Townsend stated, “We are honored to welcome Dr. Jeff, who continues to advocate for accessible veterinary care as a cornerstone of animal welfare, and we are grateful to have such a magnanimous figure supporting our work.”
As part of this milestone celebration, patrons will have the opportunity to bid on a wide variety of items in the Auction for the Animals,now live and ending promptly at 8 p.m. during the celebration. The diverse selection of items includes a standout piece: a .75-carat diamond pendant necklace, generously donated by Stan Kazanjian of Kazanjian Jewelers in Beverly Hills in honor of the shelter’s 75th anniversary.
Board Chair, Ed Blain, shared, “For 75 years, Midcoast Humane has been a place where compassion turns into action. We are deeply grateful to the supporters who make this work possible, and we’re excited to celebrate the legacy we’ve built together and the lives we’ll continue to save in the years ahead.”
