Meghan Smith, daughter of Jennifer and Hazen Smith of Boothbay, graduated cum laude from the University of Maine at Farmington on May 14. She earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education.

While at UMF she was a member of Alpha Lambda Delta (a national honor society), was a four-year member of the women's basketball team, and was a North Atlantic Conference Scholar Athlete.

She has accepted a second grade teaching position at the St. George School.
