Mon, 04/13/2015 - 1:15pm

Maud Page, 89, of Boothbay Harbor, died peacefully with her family by her side on April 3, 2015.

She was born Feb. 12, 1926, the daughter of the late Sam and Ruth Wylie. Maud attended area schools before marrying Weston “Cracker” Page and starting a family.

In addition to helping with her husband’s local business, Page’s Men's Store, she served as a notary public and bookkeeper for the Boothbay Harbor Town Office for many years.

Maud enjoyed sailing, gardening, tennis (both playing and watching), and getting out in the countryside for a stroll. She could make a mean braided rug!

Maud was an avid lifelong reader and she never stopped learning. She was sharp as a tack to the end. In her later years, she kept active with jigsaw puzzles and kept a kind and watchful eye on an extended household of dogs, cats and great-grandchildren. She was the most reliable, unflappable, and gentle babysitter ever, especially for Winter, Katherine and Sam.

She was predeceased by her siblings, Sam, Ruth, Barbara, John, Dan and Caroline; her husband, Weston Page; a son, Peter C. Page; and a niece, Nancy Hilton.

Maud is survived by son, Donn Page and his wife Darcy; son, Phil Page and his wife Sunni Gail; daughter, Susan M. Page; grandson, Neal Page and his wife Lisa; grandson, Rick Page and his wife Renee; grandchildren, Adam, Nick, Andy, Michelle and Jasmine; great-grandchildren, Elijah, Avery, Winter, Katherine and Sam; nieces, Jill Hodgdon and Linda Giles; nephew, Jim Hodgdon; grand-niece, Annie Lynn Macusick; and numerous other nieces, nephews and great- grandchildren.

She will be fondly recalled by all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library, 4 Oak Street, Boothbay Harbor, ME 04538, or online at: www.bmpl.lib.me.us, or to the Boothbay Harbor Meals on Wheels program, C/O Peggy Peters 82 Oak Street, Boothbay Harbor, ME 04538.
