St. Columba’s Episcopal Church

Maine, blueberries and pancakes!

Tue, 07/30/2019 - 11:30am

What could be a better pairing than Maine blueberries and pancakes?

Add real maple syrup and sausage and you have the winning combination being served on Saturday, Aug. 17 from 8 to 11 a.m. at St. Columba’s Episcopal Church, 32 Emery Lane in Boothbay Harbor. A bake sale will also be held at the church from 8 a.m. to noon that day.

Everyone is welcome to enjoy the breakfast which includes watermelon, juice, coffee, tea or milk. Prices for the breakfast are $8 for adults ages 14 and older and $4 for children between the ages of 6 and 13. There is no charge for children 5 years old and younger.

St. Columba’s volunteer bakers are hard at work and will offer brownies, cakes, coffee cakes, pies, cookies, peanut brittle, rice crispy lollipops, blueberry muffins and many other delicious items for sale during the morning.

Since 2005, St. Columba’s has held blueberry festivities almost every August when blueberries are at their peak. Workers took a brief vacation last year but the very popular pancake breakfast is back for 2019.

All proceeds go to furthering the church’s ministry.
