Team members at the Lincoln Medical Partners Family Medicine Wiscasset office and their patients have been reaping the benefits of its new raised-bed gardens.

This marks the first year for the garden, which was supported by the LincolnHealth Works on Wellness (WOW) program. Ames True Value of Wiscasset also chipped in, donating supplies to help construct and care for the garden. Tomatoes, cucumbers, kale, green pepper, purple beans, green beans and sugar snap peas were planted and have been a part of the harvest.

“Our office works as a team to help maintain our garden,” said Jamie Cromwell, medical assistant. “We also have a community member who has put it into his morning walk to water our garden, and we appreciate his help.”

“It’s great to be able to offer fresh produce to our patients and for our team to go outside and grab something fresh to go along with lunch,” Cromwell said.

LincolnHealth also has wellness gardens on the Miles campus in Damariscotta and at Lincoln Medical Partners Family Medicine in Waldoboro.
