Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office: Three arrests

    Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:

    The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to 274 calls for service from Aug. 6 through Aug. 13. Year to date, LCSO has responded to 9,487 calls for service.

    Arrests

    Aaron W. Ashton, 38, of Alna was arrested Aug. 9 on a Probation Violation, on Cross Road, Alna, by Det. Sgt. Ronald Rollins.

    Robert D. King, Jr., 54, of Whitefield was arrested Aug. 11 for Domestic Violence Assault, on Mills Road, Whitefield, by Deputy Caleb Poirier.

    Nathaniel A. Grasser, 24, of Dresden was arrested Aug. 11 on two Sagadahoc County warrants for Unpaid Fines and Operating under the Influence, Operating after Habitual Offender Revocation, Driving to Endanger, on Cross Road, Alna, by Deputy Caleb Poirier.

    Accidents

    On Aug. 6, an accident occurred on Wiscasset Road in Boothbay involving Kevin G. Whitney, 60, of Topsham. Mr. Whitney was operating his 1993 Kenworth truck, hauling a modular home, southbound entering the Boothbay Center rotary. Due to an overhang on the modular home, and the street light pole hanging partially into the roadway, the top of the modular home made contact with the pole and caused the pole to fall over. Deputy First Class Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.

    On Aug. 6, an accident occurred on Augusta Road in Jefferson involving Heather R. Emerson, 39, of Waldoboro. Ms. Emerson was operating her 2016 Dodge Ram northbound when she observed a deer enter the roadway from the southbound ditch and struck it. Sgt. Kevin Dennison was the investigating officer.

    On Aug. 7, an accident occurred on Center Street in Nobleboro involving Janet E. Spear, 77, of Nobleboro and Yvonne McLean, 64, of Nobleboro. Ms. Spear was turning her 2017 Buick Enclave onto the roadway from a parking lot and Ms. McLean was operating her 2018 Ford F-350 eastbound on Center Street. Spear failed to see McLean’s vehicle and as a result, Spear struck the rear driver’s side of her vehicle. Lt. Brendan Kane was the investigating officer.

    On Aug. 8, an accident occurred on West Shore Road on Westport Island involving Richard E. Palm, 21, of Westport Island. Mr. Palm was operating his 2004 Subaru Legacy westbound when he lost control of his vehicle. As a result, his vehicle went off the road on the right side and struck a utility pole, which then fell onto his vehicle. Deputy Andrew Miner was the investigating officer.

    On Aug. 9, an accident occurred on Main Street in Wiscasset involving John E. Barbour, 54, of Rockland and Caleb M. Gray, 21, of West Boothbay. Mr. Barbour slowed his 2019 American Motors Ram 150, heading northbound, in traffic and Mr. Gray was operating his 2004 Nissan Altima behind Barbour’s vehicle and struck it from behind. Sgt. Kevin Dennison was the investigating officer.

    On Aug. 9, an accident occurred on US Route 1 in Nobleboro involving John E. Stevens, 66, of Whitefield. Mr. Stevens was operating his 2005 Freightliner tractor-trailer under power lines to a loading dock, when the power lines got caught on the trailer and were pulled off the side of a building. Deputy Andrew Miner was the investigating officer.

    On Aug. 11, an accident occurred on Rockland Road in Jefferson involving Paula J. Dodge, 62, of Randolph and Zachary L. Woodruff, 51, of Rockport. Ms. Dodge was operating her 2012 Ford Fiesta eastbound and Mr. Woodruff was following behind Dodge in his 2018 Cadillac XTS. Dodge slowed to turn left and had her left signal on, when she found she was turning the wrong way. Dodge then put her right signal on and turned right. Woodruff attempted to pass on the right side when he saw Dodge had her left signal on, however, Dodge turned right as Woodruff was passing and both vehicles collided. Deputy Chad Gilbert was the investigating officer.

    On Aug. 11, an accident occurred on Route 1 in Edgecomb involving Casey A. Fournier, 23, of South Portland and Anna M. Walker, 21, of Thomaston. Mr. Fournier was making a left turn from the Eddy Road onto US Route 1 in his 2018 GMC Acadia, when he struck the front of Walker’s 1998 Toyota Corolla, as it was traveling northbound on US Route 1. Deputy Andrew Miner was the investigating officer.

    On Aug. 12, an accident occurred on Route 1 in Edgecomb involving Robert L. Gilley, 20, of Richmond and Nathaniel R. Hull, 40, of Portland. Mr. Hull was operating his 2019 Cadillac XTS southbound and was slowing in traffic on Route 1. Mr. Gilley was also operating southbound in his 2007 Subaru Forester behind Hull’s vehicle and did not stop in time and as a result, struck Gilley’s vehicle in the rear. Deputy First Class Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.
