Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office: 2 arrests
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to 281 calls for service for the period of Dec. 9 to Dec. 16. Year to date, LCSO has responded to 13,912 calls for service.
Arrests
Thomas J. Hansen, 25, of Wiscasset was arrested Dec. 14 for Domestic Violence Criminal Mischief, on Gardiner Road, Dresden, by Deputy Nathaniel Aronson.
Steven K. Greenwood, 33, of Berwick was arrested Dec. 15 for Operating under the Influence, on Bristol Road, Bristol, by Deputy Jerold Winslow.
Accidents
On Dec. 9, an accident occurred on West Alna Road in Alna involving Matthew J. Bruce, 39, of Wiscasset. Mr. Bruce was operating his 2017 Ford F150 northbound when a deer entered from the left side of the road and struck his vehicle. Deputy Nathan Yeaton was the investigating officer.
On Dec. 9, an accident occurred on Hendricks Hill Road on Southport involving Jeffrey J. Stewart, 63, of Southport. Mr. Stewart was operating his 2024 Subaru Forester southbound when a deer entered the road and was struck, causing damage to the front driver’s corner of his vehicle. Deputy Caleb Poirier was the investigating officer.
On Dec. 10, an accident occurred on Waldoboro Road in Jefferson involving Zachariah A. Mitchell, 31, of Cushing. Mr. Mitchell was operating his 2008 Chevrolet S1500 northbound when he crossed the center line and entered the southbound ditch. As a result, he struck a DOT intersection sign, continued down an embankment and struck a small tree. Sgt. Kevin Dennison was the investigating officer.
On Dec. 10, an accident occurred on Augusta Road in Jefferson involving Seamus M. Phaneuf, 30, of Damariscotta. Mr. Phaneuf was operating his 2023 Ford F-150 northbound and it was raining and the roads were slushy and icy. As a result, he lost control of his vehicle, causing it to go off the roadway on the right and strike some trees. His vehicle also had inadequate tires for winter travel. Sgt. Scott Hayden was the investigating officer.
On Dec. 11, an accident occurred on Waldoboro Road in Jefferson involving Clayton H. Crommett, 71, of Weeks Mills. Mr. Crommett was operating his 2012 Toyota Camry southbound when he observed a deer enter the roadway from the northbound ditch and struck his vehicle. Sgt. Kevin Dennison was the investigating officer.
On Dec. 12, an accident occurred on Gardiner Road in Dresden involving Deborah J. Foss, 62, of Windsor. Ms. Foss was operating her 2020 Honda HR-V northbound when a deer came out into the road in front of her vehicle and was struck, causing front passenger side damage. Sgt. Scott Hayden was the investigating officer.
On Dec. 13, an accident occurred on Middle Road in Dresden involving Daniel M. Murphy, 33, of Dresden and Aidan A. L. Drage, 23, of Dresden. Mr. Murphy was backing his 2015 GMC Sierra out of his driveway and could not stop due to slick ice going up the hill of the driveway. Mr. Drage was traveling northbound in his 2016 Honda HRV-LX and was coming to a stop at the intersection when he was struck by Murphy’s vehicle coming out of the driveway. Deputy Joseph Booth was the investigating officer.
On Dec. 14, an accident occurred on Tuner Road in Bremen involving Aaron Delano, 50, of Damariscotta. Mr. Delano was operating his 2018 Ford F-150 westbound and when approaching a turn, he stated he encountered another vehicle traveling eastbound that was in his lane. As a result, he traveled off the roadway to the right, struck a utility support pole and came to rest on a stone wall, causing disabling damage. Deputy Nathaniel Aronson was the investigating officer.
