Lincoln County Democrats to meet online March 26

Mon, 03/23/2020 - 12:30pm

The Lincoln County Democratic Committee (LCDC) will meet online on Thursday, March 26 at 7 p.m. Pre-registration is required to receive access. Register at https://lincolncountydemocrats.com/meet. The LCDC does not anticipate any participant limitations but does ask that registrations be submitted before noon the day of the meeting. They will do their best to accommodate last-minute registrations.

In a joint statement previously made by Barb Burt, LCDC campaign committee chair, and Chris Johnson, LCDC chair, “The Lincoln County Democratic Committee has made a decision to postpone in-person activities until the threat of the COVID-19 coronavirus has been minimized. We do not want to endanger the health of our friends and neighbors here in Lincoln County. However, that doesn’t mean that our work stops. We will find other methods of getting the word out about our Democratic values and goals for the upcoming elections, and we will work hard to make sure that our candidates’ messages about competency, compassion, and connection can be heard.”

This month’s meeting appropriately features two Lincoln County Gen-Z activists, Riley Stevenson and Jamie Dalgleish, who will provide their perspectives on elections and what is at stake for their generation.

Johnson will also introduce and take questions regarding the proposed Maine Democratic Party Platform to be adopted in 2020. A link to this document may be found here: https://www.mainedems.org/party/documents.

All Lincoln County Democrats and unenrolled progressives are welcome to participate.
