Dear Editor:

I want to thank everyone who has contributed to the effort to move the Kenniston Hill Inn from where it has been for the past 217 years to its proposed new home at the Boothbay Railway Village.  

The donations to date are approximately $57,000.

The newest quote to move the building in one piece is $65,000. This scenario carries additional expense associated with dropping the power lines as the house travels up Route 27, but has a potential to save funds on reconstruction later. The quotes from the utilities are pending.

Since time is getting very short, I hope to encourage a groundswell of community support! Anyone who has an interest in saving this historic landmark please come forward with any size contribution!

Your tax deductible donation can be made by check, payable to the “BCA, Move Kenniston Hill Inn” account and sent to Deb Todte, P.O. Box 375, Boothbay, ME 04537, or it can be dropped off at Boothbay Harbor Framers at the Meadow Mall. Checks will not be deposited until the goal is met. In the event that the goal is not met, all checks will be returned.
