Considering the position you are running for, what do you feel are the three most pressing issues:

Infrastructure – expanded water and sewer, improved roadways, walking and biking paths, public restrooms, athletic fields and playgrounds, outdoor recreation etc. Jobs – Help to promote and create a business environment that encourages stable, high-paying jobs, both white and blue collar, and supports trending 21st century entrepreneurial business growth. Community Building – Proactive, inclusive, solutions-based approach to our town’s present and future opportunities. This includes consensus building, finding common ground, and supporting a positive public dialog based on facts and research. Let’s reject the business-as-usual fear-based mentality that drags us all down and aggressively pursue opportunities that are right in front of us. Let’s be aware of our shortcomings, ask for help, and do the hard work necessary for our town’s success. I believe we can create a more welcoming and modern feel without compromising what makes people want to come and stay and play and live here. Let’s be the Maine town that leads, not follows.

We have a wide range of businesses that work with and draw people from around the world. We have the luxury of living in a place with stunning natural beauty. People who don’t live here year-round want to share in that beauty. Let’s participate in the wealth of opportunity that affords.

Any other thoughts on why you are running or what you can bring to the office?

To me, the job of a select person is to listen to, and work with and on behalf of, the people of Boothbay. I will help coordinate outside state, federal and professional resources in order to facilitate our townspeople’s visions, dreams and goals. I want Boothbay to prosper. I see challenges as opportunities for growth and think outside the box. I believe communicating in a way that is respectful to ourselves and others is crucial. I believe we need to base conversations on facts and take personal responsibility for our own feelings and opinions. Let’s give others and ourselves the space to make mistakes and let’s learn from them.
