Chris Leeman was promoted to director of public works at the Boothbay Harbor Selectmen's meeting on Monday, April 27.

The promotion was on the recommendation of Town Manager Tom Woodin, and was unanimously supported by the selectmen. Several other members of the crew came to the meeting in support of Leeman.

“I appreciate your support and confidence and will do the best job I can do,” Leeman said.

With this appointment, the public works crew is still one member short. Woodin requested approval to advertise the position, which the selectmen granted.

“We appreciate the efforts of the public works crew, especially during this past winter,” Board Chairman Denise Griffin said.
