The fresh and lively art works by students in Lincoln County schools that opened on May 4 will be on view at the Maine Art Gallery in Wiscasset on Saturday and Sunday, May 18 and 19 from noon until 4 p.m. The show, which has become an annual tradition for the gallery, provides a professional showcase for the promising artists.
The old Wiscasset Academy building at 15 Warren Street in Wiscasset is home to the Maine Art Gallery Wiscasset, whose mission is to foster creativity and cultural expression in Maine. As an old school house, it is also an appropriate setting for this display of student art.
Schools participating in the Youth Art Exhibit include Chewonki Elementary School, Coastal Christian Academy, Damariscotta Montessori School, Great Salt Bay Community School, Nobleboro Central School, Sheepscot Valley Children’s House, Southport Central School, Wiscasset Elementary School, and Wiscasset Middle High School.
The next show, opening on Saturday, June 1 is the The Maine Art Gallery Wiscasset’s Annual Members Exhibition.
