Josee Winston-Feder shines at state and regional competitions

Josee Winston-Feder, 12, won first place all-around for her age group in the Gold Level at the USA Gymnastics (USAG) League State Meet on April 1, in Pelham, New Hampshire.

She took first on floor routine (9.5) and first on vault (9.6) and qualified for the Maine State Team to compete at the USA Gymnastics Regional Meet for the second year in a row.

The following week, on April 8, in Bath, she placed second All-Around across all age groups in the Gold Division at the Maine State YMCA Gymnastics League State Meet, with an overall score and personal record of 37.7, capturing first place with a 9.7 in the floor event, tied for first in the uneven bars with 9.4, came in second place on the balance beam with a 9.4, and tied for third in the vault event with a 9.0. 

To cap off the season, Josee placed first All-Around in the Gold Junior Division (ages 12-13), at the YMCA Gymnastics League Northeast Regional Meet this past weekend (May 20-21) in Glastonbury, Connecticut, winning first in floor (9.375) and balance beam (9.550) and third in the uneven bars (9.35).

Josee lives in Edgecomb and competes with the Bath YMCA gymnastics team. Her team placed first against ten other gyms from Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Connecticut and Rhode Island.
