It is getting worse

Mon, 04/04/2022 - 3:30pm

Dear Editor:

What strange times these are. The “most popular presidential candidate ever” has an approval rating that is in the toilet one year into his term. That same president has spent that time busily gaslighting the entire nation, at least when his handlers can get him to string more than three words together and pretend it is a cognitive thought. The largest budget ever with the largest tax hike in history and it is a good thing?

We stand once again on the brink of war in Eastern Europe and our “allies” watch as the president makes gaffe after gaffe, each one more dangerous than the last. It has come to the point that if anyone cares it is best to wait until the White House comes out with their “clarification,” which of course the president will contradict.

India, which had been an ally and our best hope to break away from China as a supplier has now itself started to look to China for partnership. Russia is selling its energy to China, oil and coal while we pursue some “green” concept that will do nothing but throttle American growth.

We have record high inflation, (not his fault apparently) a new tax on Americans. High fuel prices, (Putin’s fault, or is it Trump’s?) exacerbate the inflation. Food shortages are on the horizon for many Americans, something not thought of in years.

Record numbers of illegals pouring across our unprotected border straining the resources of border states. The fentanyl crisis should be way up on the list as well, border issues again.

Government officials tell us if we do not like the fuel prices, we can always buy an electric car. That is the 21st century version of “Let them eat cake” and we know what happened in that case.

We really need to stop saying “Well it can’t get much worse” because every time somebody does Lunchbox Joe says ‘Hold my beer.”
