Investigation ongoing into Tuesday’s accident on Townsend Avenue

Boothbay Harbor Police Chief Bob Hasch said Wednesday that two people suffered minor injuries in Tuesday’s three-car accident at the intersection of McClintock Street and Townsend Avenue.

Hasch, Officer Larry Brown and Fire Chief Nick Upham responded to the accident which occurred just before 4 p.m.

Upon arrival and investigation, it was determined a vehicle operated by Susan Haney, 70, of St. Petersburg, Florida struck two unoccupied vehicles after Haney lost control of the vehicle. The first vehicle was struck on McClintock Street, the second on Townsend Avenue.

Boothbay Harbor Fire Department responded with two fire trucks and 10 personnel to help block the road, remove debris, and manage the scene. Boothbay Region Ambulance Service responded as well.

The investigation to determine cause of the accident is ongoing.
