Interim minister appointed at Congregational Church

Mon, 01/20/2020 - 8:15am

The Congregational Church of Boothbay Harbor is pleased to announce the selection of the Reverend Peter Ilgenfritz as interim minister. Rev. Ilgenfritz (pronounced Ilgenfritz) will guide the church in a process of community- and self-examination that will precede the search for a permanent minister to replace the Rev. Dr. Sarah M. Foulger, who retired from ministry late last year.

Rev. Ilgenfritz spent 25 years team-pastoring at the University Congregational United Church of Christ prior to founding a ministry called Navigating Through Change. As stated by church leaders in the Boothbay Harbor church, Rev. Ilgenfritz’s experience and deep interest in helping individuals and communities through transitions make his selection to serve here particularly appropriate.

Ilgenfritz will begin his ministry at the Congregational Church on Feb. 1. All are welcome to church service at the Congregational Church at 10 every Sunday morning. Refreshments and conversation will follow in the Fellowship Hall.
