Interactors serve Rotary in exchange for funds for micro lending program

A great partnership between Boothbay Region High School students and Rotary continues to grow. On Feb. 14, the atmosphere was festive and romantic at the Boothbay Harbor Rotary Club Valentine's dinner. Many members brought their spouses and significant others to enjoy a casual evening of excellent food, conversation, and camaraderie amid dimmed lights, soft music, and lovely decorations. The club house windows were adorned with hearts, LED candles flickered on every table, and the warmth of the atmosphere was enhanced by the lovely paintings by Tony van Hasselt being featured this month on the club house walls.

Judy deGraw chaired the committee that organized this lovely event, and she was ably helped by Annette Stormont, Alice Mutch, Lori Zimmerli, Anne Prost, and Jean Huber. Deb Graves provided the flowers for each table, which were carried home by the lucky winner at each table. Four BRHS students from the Rotary's Interact Club served as our able waiters: Journey Bennett, Jamie Major, Lexi Lane and Joey Lane. Interact receives funds to be invested in their micro lending program, which serves industrious entrepreneurs in developing countries around the world.
