Letter to the editor
Indefensible, immoral act
Mon, 05/05/2025 - 4:19pm
Dear Editor:
The lady doth protest too much, methinks. The Bard himself could not have composed such a farce. As did Jefferson Davis in the 1860s, the executive branch of Maine, groping for the states-rights argument, enforces yet another indefensible, immoral act upon society, freedom and liberty. Minor girls continue to suffer under physical, emotional and legal harm. Maine Democrats may as well defend slavery itself. This is pure sanctimony, self-righteousness and a lust for everlasting power. The understatement, national embarrassment does not serve English verse very well, methinks.
