Dear Editor:

To Meagan and friends at the Y, thank you for your kind words at the Y Annual Dinner. I was stunned! This may sound odd in light of my vocation but, as a middle child, I prefer not to have the spotlight on me. That being said, I truly felt honored and humbled to receive the Character Development Award.

Also, while they were not physically standing with me, in that surprising moment, I felt the presence of so many people in the community who have launched or helped with various Boothbay Region Community Resources initiatives, starting with Greta Russell who was there at the very beginning (former priest at St. Columba’s). I share this honor with all of them.
