Lincoln County Democrats

Headquarters opens Aug. 10

Thu, 08/09/2012 - 10:00am

All Democrats and supporters are invited to the grand opening of Lincoln County Democrats' Campaign Headquarters on Friday, August 10. It will be an open house event from 4 to 8 p.m.

Guests can meet and mingle with candidates for the Maine State Senate, Maine State House of Representatives, and County Commissioner. Light refreshments will be served, and entertainment will be provided by Andrew Hatt, guitarist of Wiscasset, who has been quite a hit this summer at open mike nights and Summer Fest. Guests who bring a camera can have their photos taken standing next to President Obama ... or at least his life-size replica. Campaign headquarters is located at 133 Main Street, Damariscotta, between The Accessories Shop and Puffins Nest.

Ben Grant, Chairman of the Maine Democratic Party, has said on several occasions that Lincoln County Democrats have an outstanding roster of candidates. Running for re-election are Senator Chris Johnson of Somerville, Senate District 20, and Representative Bruce MacDonald of Boothbay, House District 61. Candidates running for election are Joel Pitcher of Jefferson, House District 50; Mick Devin of Newcastle, House District 51; Lisa Miller of Somerville, House District 52; and Tim Marks of Pittson, House District 53. Mary Trescot of Damariscotta is candidate for Lincoln County Commissioner.

Following the grand opening, campaign headquarters will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every day except Tuesdays and Thursdays. It is the place for Democrats and supporters to come to get your candidate lawn signs, buttons, brochures and bumper stickers.

Come in for a chat or to find about on-going activities. Those interested in working to help Democrats win in November can stop by to enroll as a volunteer and share ideas about can be done to help their candidates. A sign-up sheet for anyone interested in volunteering will be available.
