Halcyon String Quartet’s second annual family performance, “Wonderful World,” is coming to The Waldo Theatre on Friday, April 7 at 7 p.m. In collaboration with actor Ben Meader and singer Kaylee Kazadi, Halcyon will be combining music and story to celebrate two of Maine’s most beloved children’s book authors and illustrators: Ashley Bryan and Robert McCloskey.

The show will feature Robert McCloskey’s, “Blueberries for Sal” alongside illustrations from Ashley Bryan’s “Wonderful World,” and “Let it Shine.” Musical selections performed by Halcyon will include, “This Little Light of Mine,” “Wonderful World,” and many other favorite tunes from childhood and beyond.

“This will be a joyful performance that's sure to bring back the fondest childhood memories while entertaining and engaging all ages,” said Susan Hodder, executive director at The Waldo.

A free student matinee will take place at The Waldo on Friday, April 7, at 1 p.m., and Halcyon will host a free story hour at the Waldoboro Public Library on Saturday, April 8, at 10 a.m.
