Great support of Penguin Plunge
Dear Editor:
The 21st edition of the Penguin Plunge was a great success with 48 plungers. Thanks to them and the generosity of others in our community, $1,500 was raised to fund free swim lessons for our 2nd grade students.
We would like to recognize all of those who contributed to this event. Knickerbocker Group, our major sponsor, whose donation helped in the purchase of the embroidered hats made by Harbor Apparel and given out to each of the participants. Others included the Boothbay Fire Department, whose members cleared and sanded the ramp leading to Linekin Bay along with keeping count of the plungers, Boothbay Region Ambulance Service, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department, the Boothbay Register, and Boothbay Region Television.
We look forward to seeing everyone on Jan. 1, 2025 at 11 a.m. for the 22nd edition of The Penguin Plunge.
