Dear Editor:

The Boothbay Region High School Class of 1972 held its 50-year reunion on Saturday, Aug. 6 at Brady’s. Thirty-five classmates and their spouses and guests attended, and we all had a great time!

A more complete writeup will follow when we have the official photos, but we want to thank the following people who helped make our 50-year reunion a huge success:

Thank you to Jen Mitchell and everyone at Brady’s, who welcomed us so enthusiastically and put on a terrific reunion! Brady’s was the perfect venue for this event! Jen and her colleagues at Brady’s have experience and expertise in holding class reunions and other community events, and that meant we could all relax and have fun. We are so lucky to have Brady’s in our community!

Thank you to photographer Leisha MacDougall for taking the official class photo and other photos at our reunion! Leisha knew exactly what we needed, where to take the best photos, and how to get everyone organized for the group photos. We greatly appreciate her expertise, and we will treasure these photos forever!

Thank you to the Wrong Road Band, of which our classmate, Dr. Steve Barter, is a member! They played three hours of wonderful music from the ’60s and ’70s, and we all enjoyed singing along and dancing! We felt 50 years younger listening to this terrific band!

Our 50-year class reunion made us all realize how lucky we were to grow up here, and how connected we still are after 50 years! This kind of experience is rare in today’s world.
