Dear Editor:

As members of Chapter G of P.E.O., we would like to thank several people and organizations for supporting our annual fundraiser, held on June 22. “Games Day” featured a sanctioned bridge tournament, held at the Boothbay Harbor Rotary club house. Thank you to the Rotary for allowing us to use your beautiful facility, and special thanks to the director of our tournament, Susan Blagden.

The Inn at St. Andrews Village was host to another set of games, also a part of Games Day. The Village provided a lovely setting for party bridge, mah jongg, cribbage, and other table games. One person reported that she can't wait until next year to play "Ditto" again! Thank you to the Village for supporting our cause for women's education.

Kudos to BRCTV and Cody Mitchell, who filmed and edited a commercial featuring our Chapter G fundraiser. We are so grateful for his help, time and talents in spreading the word about Games Day.

All proceeds from ticket sales will be sent to Philanthropic Educational Organization  (P.E.O.) International to fund grants, scholarships, and very low interest loans for women seeking to further their education. A number of local women have received loans and scholarships.

And a shout out to all who attended the event!
