Dear Editor:

Kudos to the Boothbay Region Historical Society’s curator, Barbara Rumsey, and the wonderful volunteers who organized the recent event at the historic Leach house. And a very special thanks to Susan and Sally Leach for opening their delightfully appointed home to 50 strangers.

I attended with two friends visiting from England. They especially liked seeing the “Georgian” house, which they labeled as such when then they found out it dated to George III. The food was special, too — the menu represented foods of the day — pot roast, potted cheese, gingerbread and syllabub. What a wonderful touch!
