Get your emergency sign in Boothbay Harbor
Sergeant Jacob Powers of Boothbay Harbor Police Department would like to let everyone know residents can now pick up an application for a 911 emergency sign at the Boothbay Harbor Town Office. These blue reflective signs display your home or business street number and are invaluable for First Responders if they are dispatched for a call. A sample is on display.
Residents can easily order their sign by either stopping in at 185 Townsend Ave. or by calling The Community Center at 633-9876. If you call Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., you can speak with a volunteer. Otherwise, you can leave a message that you are interested in purchasing a sign and someone will call you back.
When your sign is completed, you will be called to pick it up, or in some cases it can be delivered. Signs can be mounted either horizontally or vertically.
It is suggested the emergency sign be attached to a mailbox post, or if you don’t have a mailbox, it should be mounted somewhere in front of the house so it can easily be seen.
This program is supported and encouraged by Boothbay Harbor Police Department, Boothbay Harbor Fire Department, and Boothbay Region Emergency Medical Services.
