Boothbay and Boothbay Harbor sweep the vote. In conjunction with Gardens Aglow, in early November, Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens invited Boothbay peninsula community members with a home or business visible from a public roadway to take part in the annual community lighting contest. Winners in both categories, residential and business, were chosen by popular vote.

Under the business category, Pier One Pizza won first place. Second place was secured by Flagship Inn, and third place went to Shore Hills Campground.

In the residential category, Tracy Smith came in first, second place went to Linda and Geoff Dow, and third to Karen Blackman.

For seven years, Gardens Aglow, the Gardens’ signature winter event, has been a firm tradition in Maine’s seasonal calendar. Together with Boothbay Lights, every year, the Boothbay peninsula becomes the place to be for wintertime cheer.
