Friday night football at BRHS

For just over two decades, Friday night football under the lights has been a happening occasion at Boothbay Region High School. Parents, fans and officials gather for two to three hours on Sherman Field to enjoy football.

On Friday, Sept. 30, the Seahawks and Rebels from Telstar Regional High School in Bethel squared off in a tale of two halves. The Rebels took a 30-6 lead by halftime and although it looked all but over for the hometown team, the Seahawks came roaring back with good defense and some exciting offense. Boothbay cut Telstar’s lead to just three in the fourth quarter but the Rebels scored again to put the game out of reach. A Boothbay touchdown as time ran out and a two-point conversion provided the final score – Telstar 36, Boothbay 35.

Here is a collection of scenes from on the field, sidelines and on the hill at the Snack Shack and observation building.

Just another fall Friday night at BRHS.
