The Boothbay Region Mah Jongg group is pleased to help support the Boothbay Region Food Pantry in the important service it provides the community. With each group purchase of a Mah Jongg card from the National Mah Jongg League, a donation of $5 is contributed by the League to the charity of choice. Over the years, the Boothbay Region Mah Jongg group has supported the Student Aid Fund, the Boothbay Region Land Trust, the Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library, the Southport Memorial Library, Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, and other organizations.

The Mah Jogg group is comprised of members throughout the region as well as those members who have moved away, but wish to continue to purchase their Mah Jongg card with the group in order to support the Food Pantry. 

Mah Jongg was first introduced to the peninsula in 2002 and there has been active participation ever since. Members have taught new members and there are numerous groups gathering throughout the region ... all sharing the joys, and challenges, of this ancient game with friends.
