First National Bank helps bring holiday cheer with $10,000 contribution

    First National Bank recently announced contributions to the Boothbay Harbor Region Chamber of Commerce’s Boothbay Lights, Coastal Maine Botanical Garden’s Gardens Aglow, and the Opera House’s Gingerbread Spectacular events, for a total contribution of $10,000.

    Boothbay Lights is a celebration of signature holiday events. Thousands of lights sparkle throughout Boothbay and Boothbay Harbor with shops, restaurants and hotels open during the holiday season. 2020 holiday events include: Gardens Aglow, Harbor Lights Festival, the Gingerbread Spectacular and the Holiday Sparkle Fireworks.     Coastal Maine Botanical Garden’s Gardens Aglow will light up Boothbay peninsula this holiday season as a driving tour of magical light. The sixth annual event will be held from Nov. 21 to Jan. 2 and has been transformed to accommodate safety protocols. To purchase tickets or for more information visit: www.mainegardens.org

    The Opera House at Boothbay Harbor’s Gingerbread Spectacular will display dozens of gingerbread houses and castles with a team of judges to award prizes. Come visit the holiday exhibit on Dec. 2-5 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This year, the Opera House will limit number of guests and require all guests to wear a mask inside.
