Tue, 04/12/2016 - 11:00am

Maine Pottery Tour, a non-profit collective of potters throughout Maine, have once again joined together to celebrate ceramics by opening their studios to visitors on April 30 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on May 1 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Started in 2011 by Lori Watts at Fine Mess Pottery to educate the public and to provide an opportunity for Maine’s robust ceramic artists to open their studio doors, Maine Pottery Tour now boasts well over 35 participating studios across the state.

Participating potters in Lincoln, Sagadahoc and Knox counties are: Liz Proffetty Ceramics, Newcastle; River Arts, Damariscotta; Alexsondra Tomasula, Tyler Gulden, Walpole; Ash Cove Pottery, Harpswell; Arrowsic Pottery, Arrowsic; Fireside Pottery, Warren; ANK Ceramics, Van Der Ven Studios, Lincolnville. For the complete list, visit http://mainepotterytour.org and the interactive map.

Welcoming visitors and artists alike, this annual weekend is a fantastic opportunity for casual to serious ceramic enthusiasts to meet the artists, see demonstrations, peek into kilns, and shop for local handmade goods.

Hours of operation are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, April 30 and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 1.
