Students have been loving these exercise and movement classes via Zoom, a computer-based program that’s very user friendly. It works with any computer, tablet or smart phone. And it’s simple to join. Just click on a link you are sent in an email before each class from the instructor, Dianne Daniels ... and there you are. You can be seen and spoken to through your computer screen and microphone. It’s almost like being in a live class! Three different classes are currently being held — read on to see if any are right for you.
Feldenkrais classes are held Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9-9:45 a.m. These are ongoing classes that you can join at any time. If you have movement discomfort or limitations, you will gradually notice that you have more flexibility, better posture, and reduced musculoskeletal pain. Since the classes take place on the floor, have a rug or mat, plus a pillow or towel, close to hand. You will also need to position your camera about eight feet from your screen so the teacher can see you and make any necessary corrections.
Beginning Tuesday, May 19, Dianne Daniels will give Feldenkrais classes in a chair from 11 to 11:45 a.m. These are for people who cannot easily get down to and up from the floor. Again, you receive an email before each class telling you how to sign up. And you will need to position your computer screen so your whole body can be seen while sitting in a chair.
Pilates Mat classes take place on Thursdays, 6-6:45 p.m. You need a pair of light hand-held weights, and perhaps a towel for under your head. You’ll be challenged from head to toe, so be prepared to work hard! The focus will be on the core muscles -- your abdominals and your back. If you feel especially fit, you can add light leg weights for more intensity.

You will be billed at the end of the month for the total number of classes you attend. There is no commitment to attend a certain number of classes.
