Dear Editor:

Humans do not choose to worship, their nature requires them to do so. If the worship of goodness is discouraged, as it has been in today’s secular West, then human nature tends to replace it with something else. 

For too many deranged individuals who are murdering innocent schoolchildren, that ‘something else’ is basically pure evil, no matter what opportunistic politicians try to label it. Fortunately, school shootings can and will be completely eliminated with a single entrance/armed guard mandate, if and when politicians muster the courage to do so.

On the other hand, the daily murders of children and adolescents on the streets of every city in America cannot be easily stopped, and that is the greatest challenge today’s shamefully feckless politicians face.
