Fall happenings at Boothbay Baptist Church
Boothbay Baptist Church, located across from the Boothbay Common, invites you to Sunday School classes for all ages each Sunday, 9-10 a.m., and to the Morning Worship Service at 10:15-11:30, featuring traditional and contemporary worship music and Bible preaching by senior pastor Rev. Dr. Steven Nash.
The fall schedule of events, open to all, includes the following:
Sunday, Sept. 11: A special service in observance of the 15th anniversary of one of the blackest days in our nation’s history. The message will be brought by Larry Decker, a retired airline pilot who used to fly the routes that were involved in the 2001 terrorist attack. The service will be followed by a potluck lunch honoring long-time members Al and Becky Roberts to mark their 50th wedding anniversary.
Saturday, Sept. 24, 8 a.m. to noon: “Car Care,” a free event for community members, especially widows, single moms and those struggling financially, providing a 21-point inspection of vehicles checking tire pressure, fluids, filters, hoses, belts, and more. This is offered by volunteers with some auto mechanical knowledge who can also give vehicle care coaching, but it does not replace licensed professional service.
Sunday, Oct. 2, 9 a.m.: “Friend Day” Family Breakfast (no Sunday school), followed by worship service. Come enjoy a delicious breakfast cooked by the church men and bring a friend.
Wednesday, Oct. 5, 6-8 p.m.: FASCAR rally for kids of all ages. Bring your own Matchbox or Hot Wheels car, or borrow one of ours, and race it on a computerized track for prizes and trophies. Refreshments are available, and parents are welcome to stay.
