Exhibit at Boothbay Harbor Bank
Award-winning artist Suzanne S. Marinell's watercolor paintings will be shown August through September at The First in Boothbay Harbor at 77 Oak St. during business hours.
“My paintings are often inspired by places that I have explored,” Marinell said. “And Maine, where I spend most of my summers, is one of them.”
Marinell's paintings are colorful, joyful and impressionistic. They depict subjects from wildflowers to breezy seascapes. “Meadow by the Sea,” one of the larger paintings, combines both. “Maine Hideaway” features delicate, almost pointillist brush strokes.
Marinell, who lives most of the year in Penllyn, Penn., received a bachelor's degree from Mount Holyoke College and master's degree in elementary education from Emory University.
She has participated in numerous art exhibitions including outdoor shows and several solo exhibitions. This show is sponsored by the Boothbay Region Art Foundation and is hosted by The First.
