A late rally fell short Friday night as the Ellsworth Eagles beat Boothbay 48-36 in eight-man football action at Sherman Field. Boothbay falls to 0-2. Ellsworth improves to 2-0. Boothbay travels to Hiram Sept. 19 to face Sacopee Valley (1-1) who lost Sept. 13 to Gray-New Gloucester, 65-26.
