Eat, drink and Merry Christmas from the Edgecomb Post Office

Fri, 12/22/2017 - 3:00pm

Mail isn’t the only thing being picked up at the Edgecomb post office leading up to Christmas Day. For the past three Christmas seasons, local postmaster Bruce Hartford and Cod Cove Inn owner Ted Hugger have provided coffee and muffins to residents  during the weekend preceding Christmas Day.

The tradition began when Hartford was still a part-time postal employee operating the Edgecomb office and Hugger and his wife, Jill, had recently purchased the inn. One day, the two began talking about spreading a little Christmas cheer in the community.

“The conversation went something like if you make the coffee, I will make the muffins,” Hugger said. The free coffee and muffins are available after 9 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 23.
