A brilliant summer day greeted the annual Dresden Summerfest on Sunday, July 14.

Peter Walsh played master of ceremonies to the event which featured horse drawn wagon rides, face painting, three-legged races, pie tasting, goat petting, music by Ken Morse and Mike Mize, and a cookout by the Dresden Fire Department.

“It is a nice way to get people together from Dresden and the surrounding communities,” said Walsh.

Nancy “Rusty” Cote received the local “Spirit of America” award. State Sen. Eloise Vitelli and State Rep. Allison Hepler presented it.

“Day-to-day kindness is the marrow of society and the spirit of America,” said radio DJ Ryan Cote.

“If you need someone to help out, you call Nancy and she’ll be there,” said Walsh.
