Downed tree damages home, knocks out power
At about 1 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 12 , a pine tree fell onto the home of Nancy Case at 95 Kenney Field Drive in Boothbay Harbor. No one was injured. Central Maine Power, Boothbay Harbor police and fire departments and Tim’s Tree Service of Boothbay were on the scene.
The tree, across the street, took down power and cable wiring before breaking on and through areas of the roof of the house and garage. Damage extended to the rear of the house as well. Case’s car parked in the driveway also sustained damage.
Wires landed across the yard and on her son Tim Case’s pickup truck; his Karmann Ghia, also in the driveway, appeared undamaged. Downed wires also fell on next door neighbor Linda Dow’s vehicle.
Power was restored by 9 a.m. The tree service began cutting up and removing the tree from the road around 5 a.m.
Outtage of internet service extended from #86 and up on Kenney Field Drive and Eastern Avenue, all of East Boothbay and sections of Boothbay. CMP and Spectrum were on site by 1 p.m. to restore services.
