Our Fun Club hosts several social events throughout the year. This year the DEYC once again held the Annual Haul Out Party at Blake’s Boat Yard in Boothbay Harbor. “We were happy to see each other but sad because it indicates the end of the boating season in Maine”.

A considerable number of members attended the annual event catered by Mary, with Midcoast Hospitality. The food was catered by a chef at Smuggler’s Cove. The varied and delicious menu was savored by all while the presence of the famed Woody Wagon was welcome as well.

Commodore Brent Pope recognized and thanked many of our club members for their contributions and dedication to the club. The list of appreciation included P/C Amy and Dusty Goodwin and the entire Blake family for their continued generosity hosting our annual event for countless years; Jeff Brown for designing the Club Roster Cover specific to the current Commodore’s choice. Jane Mulholland for her many years of extraordinary work as Administrative Assistant, and Kate Winslow our new Administrative Assistant.

Commodore Pope also introduced many Past Commodores who were in attendance. They are pictured here (left to right) at the gathering. Carl “Woody Thompson, Sandy Young, Amy Goodwin, Bob Wheeler, Susan Pope, Jeanne Koenig, John Barsomian, Joe Blake, George Masters. Three P/Cs’ wives were also present, Lorrie Richardson, Carole McCarthy and Joyce Marshall.

The new Bridge has devoted much attention to improving our website in an attempt to make it more user friendly for our members and new interested boaters. The site now includes a link to a Facebook posting for members only as well as a link to the Ship’s Store.

The Club will continue to congregate during the off season at monthly events hosted by members both in Maine and Florida.
