Donations appreciated for historical society scholarship
The Scholarship Committee from the Boothbay Region Historical Society has been busy meeting recently. We have decided to show our support for the class of 2025 with a merit-based, unrestricted award of $1,000, which will go to one Boothbay Region High School senior who is planning to go on to higher education. Majoring in history is not a requirement, but an interest in or ability to connect other subjects with history is highly desirable. Interested BRHS students should contact Mr. Wilkins in the high school Guidance Office for more information about how to apply for this scholarship. The application deadline is May 8, 2025, with a presentation to the winner at the Awards Night on June 4.
Last year’s scholarship winner was Kate Campbell who used her scholarship for tuition. She told us, “I plan to study nutrition at the University of Maine Orono. I hope to either double major or minor in business, with the goal of having my own health-foods bakery!”
This award would not be possible without community help. If you’re as proud of our local students as we are, we hope you’ll consider donating to the Boothbay Region Historical Society college scholarship fund. Simply click the link for information on donating through our website at www.boothbayhistorical.org or mail a check to Boothbay Region Historical Society, P.O. Box 272, Boothbay Harbor ME 04538. Please include “Scholarship” in the note section of your donation. Your generosity in supporting the Class of 2025 is greatly appreciated.
