Local pet advocate Lawrence Pitcher said blankets (especially), towels, wet and dry cat and dog food, and cat litter are needed at area shelters. People wishing to donate these items may drop them off at Nathan’s Pharmacy, Meadow Mall, Townsend Avenue, Boothbay Harbor. Pitcher said he appreciates the previous donations and kindness shown by people over the past year. He also urges people to adopt a pet when possible.
