Domestic violence through the lens of law and legislation

    “Maine is number six in the nation for our rate of domestic violence murders,” said Midcoast Women, in a news release. “In fact, over 50% of Maine's murders are domestic abuse related.”
     
    Join Midcoast Women for a moderated panel discussion about domestic violence through the lens of the law and legislation. Panel members include domestic violence survivors, members from the Maine House of Legislators, and advocates from New Hope for Women.

    Participants will comes away with a better understanding of domestic violence and the resources available to survivors and victims of domestic violence, according to Midcoast Women.

    The program will be on Tuesday, Oct. 13, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. 

    The Camden Public Library and New Hope for Women will co-host this program.
     
    The online program is free and open to the public.

    Midcoast Women provides opportunities for area women of all ages to find and strengthen individual and shared voices.
