Coastal Rivers is hosting a walk to the salt marsh at Salt Bay Farm in Damariscotta from 3:30 to 5 p.m. on Friday, June 3 to look for spawning horseshoe crabs.

Horseshoe crabs have been around for more than 250 million years, and every spring many of them come to the shores of the Damariscotta River estuary to lay their eggs. A naturalist will be on hand to share some interesting facts about the natural history, biology and habits of these unusual creatures.

All ages are welcome. This program is free of charge, thanks to member support. Registration is required at coastalrivers.org/events.
